celebration

It was my birthday this week and I was gifted, hugged, pampered and fed! At the tail end of an emotional week at home and a busy week at work, being fêted felt splendid. My children treated me to a dinner reservation, cards, spring blooms and lovely gifts. My work mates surprised me with luscious gluten-free choco cake and a gift certificate that I’m (childishly!) excited to use at a favourite local store.

After being relentlessly petitioned this morning by a cat wanting to bust outdoors at 6 am, I headed back to bed determined to pick up the threads of a dream … And, of course, our early-riser was ready to nap when the rest of us were prying ourselves from bed.

Scones were promised, prepared, and tucked full of fruit …

Omelettes were whipped up. And we sat down to a very late meal that suited this mama just fine.

Happy Easter weekend! I’m off to Toronto tomorrow for wedding-related activities with Number One, more b-day celebrating and visiting with Number Two, and just plain relaxing and soaking up the city. I hope your weekend is fantastic, friends. Not least because there may be some chokky coming your way. I’ll see you back here on Monday. X
