my lately

New blog header | I’m spring-cleaning without the spring.

Bringing the outdoors in | Winterberry grows in abundance outside my apartment. The crimson berries are a welcome surge of colour against January’s muted landscape. A vase of branches teases out a smile whenever I look at them.

Self-care | My arsenal: homeopathic tinctures, Bryonia and Arnica; medicinal oil of oregano; a topical oil blend, extracted by a friend including Wintergreen, St. John’s Wort and Comfrey; and an aromatic blend of cypress, cedar, lemon and cajeput.

Tea enablers | Favourite wood coasters. There’s just no such thing as too many. Tea cups, ditto.

Froth | Home-made lattes. Chai is blissful, as always, but the froth … I just want thick pillows of froth by the spoonful.

Burrow | I cleared out a drawer and stacked the contents on the floor. The plan was to shift everything to an empty basket. Until Denver discovered the basket — then I was out of luck. I felt obliged to grab a couple of pillowcases to give her old cat bod some comfort. We be creaky together right now …

Wooly | Afghan slipper-socks: companions since the 70’s.
